Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Drive a bus or luxury coach along scheduled routes safely and efficiently.
• Transport passengers to their destinations on time.
• Observe prescribed speed limits and road traffic regulations.
• Apply defensive and preventive driving techniques at all times.
• Control lighting, heating, and ventilation systems for passenger comfort.
• Inspect the vehicle before each trip for mechanical deviations or defects.
• Record all defects in the inspection checklist and report them to the supervisor.
• Refrain from starting a journey if serious mechanical faults are identified.
• Complete logbooks accurately and record all working hours.
• Report near misses, incidents, accidents, or property damage immediately.
• Participate in safety sessions and required training programmes.
• Adhere to passenger rules, regulations, and customer safety policies.
• Register passengers for each trip and issue tickets where required.
• Ensure vehicles are refueled and kept clean at all times.
• Block vehicle wheels with chocks after parking as required.
• Remove ignition keys after immobilising the vehicle.
• Wear seat belts and ensure passengers comply with safety requirements.
• Drive only with a valid driver’s licence and PrDP.
• Maintain control of the ignition key while in possession.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 or National Certificate qualification.

• Proven experience transporting passengers on scheduled routes.
